I am the Publisher of Asian Scientist Magazine and the CEO of Wildtype Media Group.

I received a PhD in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA; and a M.A., B.A. in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, UK. I’m currently an adjunct assistant professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Faculty of Science.

My academic research has been featured by The BBC, MIT Technology Review, South China Morning Post, Singapore Tatler, Class 95 FM, Prestige Magazine’s 40 under 40, Singapore Straits Times and the World Economic Forum.

In 2013, I received the Singapore Youth Award, Singapore’s highest honor for youth; in 2014, I was named one of EmTech Asia’s 10 Innovators Under 35. In 2015, I was appointed a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, where I now serve on the WEF Technology Pioneer Selection Committee (2015-present).
